General
What is asorocket?
asorocket is a desktop App Store Optimization (ASO) tool for apps on Apple’s App Store and Google Play. It tracks where apps rank for keywords and in the charts, researches keywords, compares competitors, checks your listing’s texts and publishes them to App Store Connect or Google Play Console, and tells you what changed after every refresh. It runs on macOS, Windows and Linux.
Who is it for?
Independent developers, small studios, marketers and agencies who want to grow downloads from App Store and Google Play search without paying for an enterprise ASO platform or sending their data to one.
Does it work for Google Play?
Yes. Follow Google Play apps by link, name or package name and asorocket tracks their keyword ranks, top chart positions, ratings, installs and reviews every day, next to your App Store apps. The Metadata lab drafts and checks a Google Play title, short description and description, and with Google Play Console connected it publishes them, replies to reviews and reads your apps’ installs and conversion.
What works on the App Store but not on Google Play?
Apple’s top search terms, Apple Ads next to organic, the localization planner and Fill keyword field are for App Store apps. Downloads and conversion come from App Store Connect for App Store apps and from Play Console’s statistics for Google Play apps. Google Play search also returns only 30 results, so ranks there are read to 30 instead of 200.
Why a desktop app instead of a website?
Your data stays on your computer, it is fast with thousands of keywords, it works with your own App Store Connect, Google Play Console and AI keys without handing them to a third party, and long research runs can keep going in the menu bar.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no asorocket account. Download, open, and the guided setup gets you tracking your app in about two minutes.
Data and privacy
Where is my data stored?
In a single SQLite database on your computer, in the app’s data folder. Nothing is uploaded to asorocket. You can open the folder or save a backup from Settings. With Studio you can sync your computers through your own iCloud Drive or Dropbox folder: the apps, keywords and drafts you set up travel, and each computer collects its own figures.
Where do rankings and keyword data come from?
For the App Store, from Apple’s public endpoints that independent ASO tools rely on: the iTunes Search and Lookup APIs, the top chart feeds, search suggestions and review feeds. For Google Play, from the data endpoint Google Play’s own website reads. No web pages are parsed for either. Both are unofficial, and requests are paced to stay within each store’s rate limits.
How accurate are popularity and difficulty?
They are estimates on a 0–100 scale, because neither Apple nor Google publishes search volume. They are useful for comparing terms within one store. If you connect Apple Ads, asorocket also shows Apple’s own popularity score for App Store terms in Apple’s top searches.
How are my API keys stored?
App Store Connect, Google Play Console, Apple Ads, revenue, attribution, analytics and AI provider keys, and the webhook addresses alerts are sent to, are encrypted with your operating system’s secure storage (Keychain on macOS, DPAPI on Windows, the Secret Service keyring on Linux). They are left out of backups and aren’t synced between computers.
Does asorocket check my licence online?
Yes, with Lemon Squeezy, which sells the licences: when you enter a key, then about once a day. It sends only the key, an ID for this computer’s activation and the computer’s name. Without a connection, a licence keeps working for 14 days after the last check. The trial needs no connection at all. Details are in the privacy notice.
What is sent to an AI provider?
Only when you use an AI feature: public App Store and Google Play data (including a review you ask it to draft a reply to), your drafts and keyword figures. Never your API keys, your App Store Connect or Google Play Console figures, or anything from your revenue, attribution or analytics connections. With a local model through Ollama or LM Studio, nothing leaves your computer.
Features
How many keywords can I track?
As many as your plan allows; see pricing. Each keyword is checked once a day in each country you track it in, and asorocket paces requests so large lists finish without hitting the stores’ limits. App Store and Google Play keywords count toward the same limit.
How deep does rank tracking go?
On the App Store, to position 200, the full list Apple’s search API returns, so you see progress well before reaching the first page. On Google Play, to position 30: that is all Google Play returns for a search, so a lower rank shows as unranked.
Can I see my hidden keyword field?
Yes, for apps in your own developer account. Connect App Store Connect with any key except Sales and Reports, and the Metadata lab loads your live and in-preparation keyword field.
Can asorocket change my App Store listing?
Only when you publish a draft yourself from the Metadata lab. A review screen first shows each field in App Store Connect next to your draft, and only the fields you tick that changed are sent, into the version you’re preparing. Nothing is submitted for review, and every publish can be restored. It needs a key with the Admin or App Manager role. How publishing works.
Can asorocket change my Google Play listing?
Only when you publish a draft yourself, with Google Play Console connected through a service account you create. A review screen shows each text in Play Console next to your draft, and only the texts that changed are sent. If the listing changed since the review opened, nothing is sent. Google reviews the change before it shows in the store. How it works.
Can I follow the same app on the App Store and Google Play?
Yes. Follow both and link them: asorocket suggests the match. The app’s page then switches between the two and compares them side by side. Each version keeps its own keywords, reviews and history, and counts as its own app in your plan. Learn more.
Can I reply to App Store reviews?
Yes, for apps in your account. Reviews waiting for a reply come first, grouped by complaint topic, and AI can draft a reply for you to edit. Nothing is sent until you press Send. Apple only lets keys with the Admin role reply. Learn more.
Can I reply to Google Play reviews?
Yes, with Google Play Console connected. Google’s API offers the reviews written or changed in about the last week, and a reply can be up to 350 characters. Replies are written by hand: AI drafts and complaint topics are for App Store replies.
Can I see my app’s revenue?
Yes, if you use RevenueCat. Connect a project with a read-only secret key and each of your apps gets a Revenue tab with revenue, MRR, subscriptions, trials, churn and refunds by day, next to its rankings and releases. Learn more. Adapty, Superwall and Stripe work too.
What does asorocket do with my RevenueCat customers?
It reads them when you open the Customers view, to browse, search and filter them, and keeps nothing: no customer is saved on disk, exported or sent to an AI provider. Only the daily totals, such as revenue and MRR, are stored, on your computer. asorocket never writes to RevenueCat.
Can I tell organic installs from paid ones?
Yes, with AppsFlyer or Adjust connected: installs are split into organic and paid by day and network, and Impact shows organic installs around each release. Firebase or Google Analytics 4 add retention, so you can see whether the users a ranking gain brought stayed.
Does asorocket manage Apple Ads campaigns?
No. With Apple Ads connected it reads your campaigns’ keyword and search term reports and shows them next to your organic rank, so you can see terms you pay for but already rank for, and the reverse. It never changes bids, budgets or campaigns. Learn more.
Can I send alerts and reports to my clients?
Yes. Alerts go to Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord or any webhook, each destination with its own apps and kinds of alert, so a client’s channel hears about that client’s apps. With Studio, client reports per app are made on a schedule as a PDF under your own name and logo, saved in a folder you choose, with an email draft to attach it to. Both come from your computer, not through a server of ours.
Will it tell me when a competitor changes its listing?
Yes, in either store. After every refresh, What changed lists competitors’ new titles, prices, descriptions and screenshots, alongside your own rank moves and new low-star reviews, and one desktop notification a day sums it up, or a message in Slack, Teams or Discord. Learn more.
What are Apple’s top search terms?
Apple publishes its most searched App Store terms per storefront and genre every week through the Apple Ads API, with popularity scores. asorocket downloads and compares them week over week. It needs an Apple Ads account with an API user. Learn more.
Do I have to use AI?
No. Every feature works without it. AI is optional and adds written strategies, competitor breakdowns and reviews of your drafts, using your own provider key or a local model.
Which assistants can use asorocket’s MCP tools?
Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code and Windsurf, or any client that supports the Model Context Protocol over stdio. See what it can do: 29 tools, five workflow prompts and attachable resources.
Can my AI assistant publish metadata or send review replies?
Not by itself. For App Store apps it can prepare them: asorocket checks the draft, then opens the publish review or the reply with everything filled in, and nothing goes to App Store Connect until you press Publish or Send. Preparing anything needs Allow changes to be on in Settings › AI assistants. Publishing to Google Play and replying there are done in the app, not by an assistant.
Setup and platforms
Which systems does asorocket run on?
macOS (Apple silicon and Intel), Windows (64-bit) and Linux (AppImage, or a .deb package for Debian and Ubuntu).
How do updates work?
asorocket checks for new versions a little after launch and every six hours, downloads them in the background and offers a restart. An update you ignore installs when you quit. You can switch to the beta channel in Settings.
Does it keep working when I close the window?
The daily refresh runs while asorocket runs, window open or not. Turn on Open at login in Settings › Data refresh and it starts quietly with your computer, refreshes, sends your alerts and makes scheduled reports without opening a window; on Windows and Linux it can also stay in the tray after you close the window. If a bulk research run is in progress when you quit, asorocket keeps working from the menu bar or system tray and quits by itself when the run finishes.
Can I use it offline?
You can browse everything already collected. New rankings and research need an internet connection; asorocket waits and resumes when you are back online.
Pricing
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every new install includes 14 days of everything, the Studio features too, with no card and no account. Afterwards the app continues on the Free plan, and nothing you tracked is deleted.
How do I get my licence key?
Lemon Squeezy emails it as soon as you pay, and it is always in your Lemon Squeezy orders. Paste it into Settings › Licence in the app: Pro unlocks right away. A Pro licence works on one computer, a Studio licence on three.
Do a Studio licence’s three computers share their data?
If you turn on sync. The computers then share what you set up (followed apps, competitors, keywords, tags and drafts) through a folder you choose, in iCloud Drive or Dropbox. Each computer collects its own ranks and figures. Nothing is uploaded to us, and API keys stay on each computer.
Do Google Play apps cost extra?
No. App Store and Google Play apps and keywords share the same plan and the same limits. An app you follow in both stores counts as two apps.
Do I need a credit card for the free plan?
No. Download the app and use it. There is no account to create.
Can I switch plans or cancel?
Yes, at any time. If you cancel, you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for, then the app continues on the Free plan with your data intact.
Do AI features cost extra?
Not from us. AI features use your own key with the provider you choose, billed by that provider, or a free local model through Ollama or LM Studio.
Do you offer refunds?
Yes. If asorocket isn’t right for you, contact us within 14 days of paying for a full refund. The refund policy has the details.
Are prices in US dollars?
Yes. Sales tax or VAT is added at checkout where it applies.
